Former Seminole
State baseball coach Eric Myers died Saturday in Choctaw after a lengthy
battle with brain cancer.
The funeral will
be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church, 2700 Main St., Choctaw.
Myers coached Seminole from 2001-06. He was a former NJCAA All-America
pitcher while at Seminole, and was drafted by the Oakland A's.
He was a past president of the Seminole State College Baseball Alumni
Association and was inducted into the College's Alumni Hall of Fame last
spring.
A scholarship has been established in honor of Myers through the Seminole
State College Educational Foundation. Checks can be sent to the Foundation,
