FREMONT, Wis. - Jerome C. Morzenti, 76, of Clearwater, Fla., died on Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012, at his daughter's home in Fremont after a two-year battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis.

He was born on Feb. 17, 1936, in Montreal, Wis., the son of the late Albert and Pauline (Cornetto) Morzenti. Jerome graduated from Hurley High School in 1955 and married Adriean Studden in 1957. He served his country in the U.S. Army. He then went on to play professional baseball with the Milwaukee Braves and Detroit Tigers organizations. Jerome later worked for UPS and then worked in the Pinellas County School District.

Jerome is survived by a son, Randy (Mary), Hortonville, Wis.; a daughter, Candith (Kevin) Hoewisch, Fremont, Wis.; six grandchildren, Michael Morzenti, Nikki (Matt) Abdo, Jacob, Calista, Joshua and Kassy Hoewisch; a great-granddaughter, Caroline Abdo; former wife Adriean (Herman) Slapo; four brothers Albert, Ronald (Charlotte), Robert, and Jim; two sisters, Karen (Dale) Sann and Carol (Tim) Boyle; and a special friend, Leslie Rowe. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

As per Jerome's wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service.

The family requests that memorials be made to ThedaCare and Suncoast Hospice. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Suncoast Hospice (Florida) and Theda Care at Home (Wisconsin) for all of their loving and compassionate care.
