Clint "Pig" Morris

- Clint Morris, 76, passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2011, at his
residence in North Charleston, SC. He was born in Bamberg, SC, the only
son of Gladys Padgett Morris and Jennings Morris.
As a tribute to his athletic accomplishments at Bamberg High School, a
special event, "Clint Morris Night," was held at the High School
gymnasium following his last basketball game. He was definitely the pride
of his hometown.
Upon graduating from Bamberg High School, where he was All State in baseball,
basketball and football, he received athletic scholarship offers to several
colleges but accepted an offer by the Kansas City "A"s to play
His baseball career was cut short when he was drafted by the U.S. Army
in 1956. A lifelong athlete, Clint continued his love for sports in later
years as part of the Senior Softball and Basketball Association in the
Charleston area, where he made many friends.
He is survived by the love of his life, Annette Floyd; his daughter, Lynn
Morris McCain of Charleston; his son, Clint S. Morris of Columbia; his
sister, Connie Morris Clary of Bamberg; and his nieces, Kay Clary of Bamberg,
Jill Clary Latimer of Lexington, and Cindy Clary Mills of Ocean Isle Beach,
North Carolina; great-nieces, Kayla and Windi Carson of Bamberg, great-nephew,
Joshua Latimer of Lexington; and step-children, Melesa Jacobs, Teresa
Rider, Charles Floyd, April Thomas and June Fanning.
Visitation will be at 1:00 Tuesday, December 27, 2012, at Cooner Funeral
Home, 287 McGee Street, Bamberg, SC, followed by a 3:00 service.
Interment will follow at Briar Creek Cemetery on Highway 78 between Bamberg
