Leon Molokie Sr. died Saturday, April 7, 2012, at his residence. He was 80. Born in Elizabeth he resided in Staten Island before moving to East Brunswick 40 years ago. Leon was a graduate of Wagner College in Staten Island. Prior to retiring in 1994 he was a Investment Portfolio Manager for Bristol Myers, Manhattan, NY. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War. Leon played minor league baseball for the Philadelphia Athletics and was active in the East Brunswick Managers.
Surviving are his wife of 53 years Marie Holand Molokie, a daughter Peggy Pako and her husband John of Old Bridge, a son Leon Jr. and his wife Vicki of Cream Ridge, and daughter Elizabeth Hughes and her husband Tom of Monroe Twp., a brother Edward and his wife Alice of Kings Tree, SC, a sister Helen Doyle and her husband Jim of Wellington, FL and grandchildren Rory & Connor Pako, Kevin & Ryan Molokie and Hunter Hughes. His passion in life was his adoring grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10AM in The BRUNSWICK MEMORIAL HOME, 454 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick.
