Moon Bay Review
Former Half Moon Bay resident Dick Mills passed away peacefully on Sept. 14 in Seattle, Wash. Born July 20, 1930, in Brackenridge, Pa. Dick was a Navy veteran and professional baseball player who was inducted into the Allegheny-Kiski Valley Sports Hall of Fame last year. He built his 36-year career as a civil engineer at Allegheny Ludlum and was a longtime resident of Lower Burrell, Pa. He and his wife, Betsy, moved to Half Moon Bay in 2003 to be near their children and grandchildren, and celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in March 2009.
Dick is survived by his wife, sons Rick and Ken, daughter Cindy and her husband, Jason Epps, grandson Justin, granddaughters Julia, Keanna and Kaley, brothers Bill, Glenn and Jerry and their wives, beloved members of Betsys family and several nephews and nieces.
A memorial service will be held at Grace Community United Presbyterian Church, 2751 Grant St. in Lower Burrell on Sunday, Sept. 26 at 3 p.m. Those who wish may make donations to the Alzheimers Association.
