Edward S. Midura

Edward S. Midura, 89,
of Chicopee, died on Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at home. He was a retired
mail sorter for the United States Postal Service.
Edward was born on January 15, 1921 in Chicopee and was a life long resident.
He was the son of the late Joseph J. and Anna M. (Sypek) Midura. Edward
was a communicant of the Basilica of St. Stanislaus Bishop and Martyr
and a graduate of Chicopee High School. He was with the Army Corp of Engineers
as an Army veteran of World War II.
Edward was an avid golfer and bowler and was a professional baseball player
in his youth. He is predeceased by two brothers, Stanley and Henry.
Edward is survived by a sister-in-law, Anne Midura of Chicopee; a nephew,
Robert Midura and three nieces, Beverly Midura, Lauralyn Carlson and Caroleen
Edwards's funeral will be held on Saturday, March 27, 2010 from the Cierpial
Memorial Funeral Home on 69 East St. in Chicopee Falls, followed by a
Liturgy of Christian Burial in the Basilica of St. Stanislaus at 10 am.
His burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.
Family and friends are invited to a calling hour on Saturday morning from
