BOW - Charles F. Meroth, 94, of White Rock Senior Center, died Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2011, at Presidential Oaks in Concord.

He was born in Dorchester, Mass., the son of Charles J and Lillian (Duemmling) Meroth. After graduating from Medford High School in Medford, Mass., he was drafted by the Boston Bees, a farm team of the Boston Braves. He was an avid sports fan, enjoyed horse racing and loved scratch tickets. He was a Little League coach in the Concord area for many years.

Charles was employed by the Rumford Press for more than 40 years and was the supervisor of the mail room during his employment.

He was predeceased by his wife of 57 years, Marie (Harness) Meroth, who died in 2004.

Charles is survived by his daughter, Jean Tear of Bow; his sons, Donald Meroth of Epping and Charles Meroth of Ohio; three granddaughters; four great-granddaughters; and two great-great-granddaughters.

Visiting hours will be held tomorrow from 10 to 11 a.m. at Waters Funeral Home, 50 S. Main St., Concord.

Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Waters Funeral Home.

Burial will follow at Blossom Hill.
