McKELVEY, T. Bruce
83, of Saint Petersburg, died July 2, 2008, in Los Angles, CA. He is survived
by his wife Annie and 4 step-children, Christopher, Mark, Neil and Camille
Newton; 1 granddaughter, Amanda Newton.
He was born in San Pedro, CA, served as a marine in WWII, and was an Iwo
Jima survivor. After graduation from the University of Southern California,
he played minor league baseball for the Yankees.
In 1953, he moved to St Petersburg working as CPA until he retired as
a partner in the firm McKelvey, Ulrich, and Gassner. As a 40 year member
of the St. Petersburg Kiwanis Club, he served as president and Lt. Governor.
He also served on the boards for Boy Scouts and Salvation Army.
Other than family, and friends his interest, were volunteer activities,
golf, woodcarving, and travel. A celebration of life service will be held
July 14, 2008, 4pm at Westminster Suncoast Manor, 6909 Dr. MLK St. S.
