Mayfield, William
H. "Jack"Age 84 of Nashville, TN. July 20, 2010. Jack operated
the drug store on the corner of Antioch Pike and Nolensville Road for
55 plus years, first with Garrett Drug Co. and then as Mayfield Drug Co.
Some of the highlights of Jack's life was playing professional baseball,
serving in the Army Air Corps and UT Football. He was a member of John
B. Garrett Lodge #711 F&AM.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, June Anderson Mayfield; sons,
Jack Anderson (Laurie) Mayfield & Leslie Boyd (Siste) Mayfield; grandsons,
Anderson B., Nathan Spencer & William Andrew Mayfield; sisters, Betty
Jean (Edgar) Ragsdale & Sue (Albert) Williams; & brother, Lonzo
(Stella) Mayfield.
Visitation will be Thursday, July 22, 2010 from 4 - 8 p.m., at Woodbine
Funeral Home, Hickory Chapel, 5852 Nolensville Road and Friday from 12
- 1 p.m. at the church.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, July 23, 2010 at 1 p.m., at
Radnor Church of Christ, 407 McClellan Avenue, by Wendell Byrd & Fay
Cornwell. Interment Mapleview Cemetery. Family will serve as Active Pallbearers.
Honorary Pallbearers: employees of Mayfield and Garrett Drug Co., Sonny
& Carolyn Deal, Joel & Evelyn Spaulding, James Harold and Polly
Martin, James Wilder, Elders & Deacons of Radnor & Woodson Chapel
Churches of Christ; Central High Alumni Association, Old Timers Baseball
Association, & Lipscomb Golden Bison Lunch Club.
Masonic Memorial service will be conducted by John B. Garrett Lodge #711
F&AM Thursday at 7 p.m.
