The Los Angeles Times, 10/22/2008
MARSHALL, Charles Hugh
(Charley) Charley passed away at the age of 77 on Wednesday, October 15,
2008, in Bowling Green, OH, after a lengthy fight with cancer.
He was born in Los Angeles on October 22, 1931, to Daniel G. Marshall
and Dorothy Crowley Marshall. Charley graduated from Loyola Law School.
He loved baseball and played throughout school and for two years in the
professional minor leagues.
He was drafted into the Army and served honorably, being discharged in
1956. He was employed by UPS until being medically retired.
Charley married Esther Hambridge on June 23, 1973, and she survives. Also
surviving are three sisters: Jane Talso of Albuquerque, NM, Martha Stevenson
of Damascus, MD, and Veronica Varela of Phoenix, AZ, and one nephew, Daniel
Talso of Albuquerque, NM. Charley's sisters remember his biting sense
of humor.
He was a talented political cartoonist. As Charley desired, no services
are planned. His family is eternally grateful to Charley's devoted caretakers
and the Bridge Hospice health care professionals in Ohio who provided
him with emotional and physical support. He will be missed.
