LYNN - Mr. Joseph G. Marsello passed away after a brief illness on Friday October 15, 2010 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House, Danvers, MA. He was the husband of the late Janice (Murphy) Marsello and son of the late John and Mamie Marsello.

Born and raised in Lynn, he served in the U.S. Navy during WWII aboard the USS Midway. Joe was also a professional baseball player having played in the Virginia League for the Franklin Killdees and for the Miami Owls in the KOM (Kansas, Oklahoma and Missouri) League.

Joe worked in Country Clubs holding various positions from Bar Manager to General Manager once holding the position of Manager of Kernwood Country Club in Salem, MA.

Joe was a longtime member of Kelly Greens Golf Course in Nahant, MA. Joe’s whole family knows and appreciates how much he enjoyed his friends at the golf course.

Joe is survived by his daughter; Jana M. Drislane and her husband Richard; his son; John and his wife Mal (DeGaeta) Marsello; his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; Kate Buchanan and Leroy Brown and their daughter Jordan; Mark Buchanan; Angela Marsello and her son Joseph; Jake Marsello and Amanda Melisi and their daughter Kaylee; and Tara Lohman and her children Zachery, Elexis, and Lukas. He was the father of the late Joseph “Joey” Marsello. He was also the brother of the late Guido Marsello and Violet Tirabassi.

Service Information: Joe’s funeral will be held on Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the SOLIMINE, LANDERGAN AND RICHARDSON Funeral Home, 426 Broadway (Rt 129) Lynn. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Lynn.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours are Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Kaplan Family Hospice House, 75 Sylvan St., Suite B-102, Danvers, MA 01923.
