Dr. Peter S. Maropis

DR. PETER S. MAROPIS 57, of Murrysville, died April 14, 2012. He was born
June 30, 1954 in Pittsburgh, son of Pete and Margueritte (Martinez) Maropis.
He was a member of the Athletic and Academic Hall of Fame at Allegheny
College. He went on to play professional baseball for the Chicago White
Sox for four years.
After his professional career, he became a self-employed dentist, serving
the community for 31 years. He was an avid golfer and lifelong fan of
the Pittsburgh Steelers. He attended the Keystone Christian Church in
Loving husband of Kathryn (Stewart) Maropis and proud father of sons,
Dr. Peter S. Maropis and Matthew Maropis; also survived by brothers, Michael
(Debarah) Maropis of Chicago and Patrick Maropis of New York City, and
niece and nephew, Michal Jane and Derek Maropis of Chicago.
Visitation with family and friends will be held at HART FUNERAL HOME,
INC., 3103 Lillian Ave., Murrysville, PA 15668 on Monday, April 16 from
2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 17
at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home.
Interment will follow in Murrysville Cemetery.
