Robert K. Marburger, 75, of Chippewa Twp., formerly of Evans City, died Wednesday, August 3, 2011, at UPMC Shadyside after a brief illness.
Born May 29, 1936, in Evans City to the late Glennwood and Martha Moyer Marburger, he was a member of the Chippewa Evangelical Free Church. He retired as Executive Vice-President with the Union Building and Loan Savings in Bridgewater after 34 years of service. He still served on the bank's board of directors. He enjoyed spending time with his family, golfing, gardening, taking care of his yard and sports. He loved the game of baseball and played for the Minor League in the 1950's for the NY Giants farm teams.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Kay Kindelberger Marburger, and their daughter, Brianna; Sandra Kennedy, Zelienople, his lifelong friend and mother of his three daughters, Terri Clouse, Connoquenessing, Tracy Toney and her husband Greg, Beaver Falls, and Toni Dehart, Cranberry; a brother and sister-in-law, Dennis and Irene Marburger, New Castle, and seven grandchildren, Kendal and Kira Clouse, Seth and Mason Dehart, and Ceajay, Nathaniel and Matthew Toney.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Tyler K. Marburger, and three infant children.
Friends will be received today from 4 to 8 p.m. in the LUTTON CHIPPEWA FUNERAL HOME, 117 Blackhawk Road, www.luttonfuneralhome.com, and Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. in the Chippewa Evangelical Free Church, 239 Braun Road, Beaver Falls, with Pastor Ed Walsh officiating. Interment will be private.
