James “Jim” Malone, 59, of Wills Point, Texas, passed away Wednesday, July 15, 2009, in Terrell.

Jim was born Nov. 4, 1949, in Heber City, Utah, to Richard Harold and Jean Malone. Jim was a traditional and down-to-earth man’s man who was very family oriented and had a love for people. His outgoing personality would enable any person he met to become an instant, lifelong friend.

Known for his generosity, Jim was a lover of wildlife and was very involved in animal rehabilitation. Jim especially loved raccoons and he and his wife, Vicki, were always nursing raccoons and possums back to health for release back into wild habitats.

He also enjoyed playing sports and had been a pitcher with the New York Mets’ minor league team. Jim was on many bowling leagues and was an avid fisherman who thoroughly enjoyed any outdoor activity and physical activity.

He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Harold Malone; and his mother and stepfather, Jean and Roscoe Robinson.

Jim is survived by his wife, Vicki Malone of Wills Point; daughter, Tracy Malone of Rock Springs, Wyo.; siblings, Sherry Malone and Rick Malone, of Gillette, Wyo.; parents-in-law, Richard and Joan Kramer of Chagrin Falls, Ohio; sisters and brothers-in-law: Jody and Bill Velto of California, Mindy and Joe Fratantonio of Chagrin Falls, Ohio, Mike and Connie Kramer of South Russell, Ohio, and Kelly Kramer of Richmond, Va.; niece, Anna Kramer of Richmond, Va.; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends who will miss him.

In lieu of flowers, Jim’s family would like for memorials to be made to: The Liver Institute at Methodist Dallas Medical Center, 1411 N. Beckley Ave., Pavillion III, 2nd Floor, Ste. 261, Dallas, TX 75203.

A celebration of Jim’s life is planned for a later date in Wills Point, Texas.
