Armond Magnarelli Dies At Age 83

Armond Magnarelli (WSYR-TV, File) Syracuse, New York (WSYR-TV) Longtime Syracuse politician Armond Magnarelli has passed away at age 83. Armond was a legendary politician as well as local radio host, actor and former athlete.
Armond was active for many years in Syracuse Politics, and was well-known by North Siders. Armond was a standout in football, basketball and baseball.
Armond played one season of minor league baseball before enrolling at Oswego State University, where he graduated from in 1950.
Armond Magnarelli, served as Syracuse Common Council President, is a former state regional parks director and a director of the Syracuse Chiefs.
In addition to sports, he was active in the theater and starred in numerous roles as a member of the Pompeian Players.
