Robert A. "Bob" Lysen, 76, of Denton, TX, was born March 4, 1936, to Edward and Helen (nee Eisler) in Evergreen Park, IL. Formerly of Worth and Mundelein, he died suddenly July 13, 2012.

After graduating high school in 1954, he signed a minor league contract with the Yankees. He later co-owned the Baskin-Robbins in Lake Forest and worked at the post offices in Mundelein, and Carrollton, TX. Most recently, he was a greeter for Wal-Mart, where he loved welcoming the kids, most of whom knew him by name.

Bob is survived by his wife, Lisa, whom he married in 1983; four children, Scott (Jena), Beth Scott, Michelle (Paul) Bohr and Jeff; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; his sister, LuAnn (Brian) McIlveen; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Leon.

Interment will be private.
