Calvin came to California as a young boy with his family from Oklahoma, during the dust bowl.

He grew up in Orland, CA. and married his high school sweetheart, Beverly, on February 1, 1952 in Reno NV. They were married 58 yeas and have three daughters and one son; Debbie and Darby Lannom, Jana and Randy Maggert, Tammy and Scott Strawhecker, and Brad and Jennifer Lynn,

The have 10 grandchildren; Kasey, Darby, and Justin Lannom, Chad and Tara Maggert, Mark, Brian, and Bradley Strawhecker, and Brendan and Megan Lynn. They have six great grandchildren.

Cal went to work for Standard Oil in 1952 and opened his own Chevron station in 1962 at 402 Grass Valley Hwy in Auburn, He managed three service stations over his 50 years in the business.

Cal played professional baseball as a young man and had a love for all sports. He enjoyed traveling in their RV for over 50 years and spending time with family.

A celebration of his life will be held at the Auburn Elks on July 18, 2010 at 11:00 AM.
