Ronald Leandri

Ronald A. Leandri, 73, of the Hilldale section of Plains Township, died
Sunday afternoon at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital after suffering
a heart attack.
Born in Hilldale, he was a son of the late Anthony and Genevieve McCofski
Leandri. He was a graduate of Plains Memorial High School and attended
Wilkes College, Wilkes-Barre. He was employed as a Courier for Wilkes-Barre
General Hospital until his retirement. Ronnie was a former Pitcher with
the St. Louis Cardinals farm team and was a member of the Plains Hall
of Fame, the Itlo Club, Hilldale, Plains American Legion, Joseph E. Conlon
Post 558, The Polish American Veterans, and the Hudson Servicemans
Club.
He was preceded in death by his son, Ronald.
Surviving are his wife, the former Patricia Langdon; sister Sylvia Gall
and her husband, Bill, California, stepson Edward Rehrig, Wisconsin; nieces
Elissa and Tamara.
Family and friends are invited to a graveside service, which will be held
at the Italian Independent Cemetery, West Wyoming, at a time to be announced.
There will be no calling hours.
Memorial donations, if desired, may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
