Joe R. Kuncl 81, Prague, died Wednesday (5/21/08) in Lincoln. Born on the family farm near Prague, Neb., to Anton and Rose (Vavak) Kuncl. U.S. Navy Veteran. Pitcher for the Chicago Cubs for 10 years. Worked for the Soil Conservation Service for 30 years.

Survived by his wife, Darline; daughters, Theresa Musilek, Malmo; Annie Havlovic, Prague; brother, Cy Kuncl, Lincoln; sister, Vicki Nelson, Wahoo; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

Funeral Service 10 a.m. Saturday (5/24/08) at St. John's Catholic Church, Prague, Neb. Visitation: 3-8 p.m. Friday (5/23/08) at the church with Rosary at 7 p.m. Committal: St. John's Cemetery, Prague. Memorials to Family Wishes. Kucera-Kracl Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
