Gene A. Kotouch , 84, of Wooster, passed away Sunday, November 25, 2012
at his home. He was born July 14, 1928 in Collinsburg, PA, the son of
Frank and Sophie E. Zorko Kotouch. He was a graduate of West Newton High
School and a graduate of Kent State University with a BS in Business Administration.
Gene was the Advertising Manager for Rubbermaid, Inc. in Wooster for 30
years. He was directly responsible for "Making Rubbermaid a Household
Name". He had previously worked as an account executive for Ketchum,
MacLeod & Grove, Inc. and Batten, Barton, Durstine & Osborn, Inc.
in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
He had been a pitcher in the minor leagues of the Pittsburgh Pirates organization.
He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Wooster, served as Chairman
of United Way in Wooster and was a member of Ducks Unlimited. He was also
an avid hunter and fisherman.
Gene proudly served his country with the U.S. Army in WWII and Korea.
Surviving are his wife, Mariana Boes Kotouch and his daughter, Tracey
Allyne Kotouch, a sister, Audrey Easter of Pittsburgh and many nieces
Gene was preceded in death by his brothers, Wallace and Robert Kotouch.
A chapel service will be held in West Newton, Pennsylvania. Military services
will be conducted by V.F.W. Post 33 of Greensburg.
