Charles J. Kolakowski,
77, Mount Penn, died Wednesday morning in his residence.
Born in Sayreville, N.J., he was a son of the late Leopold and Stella (Woynarowski) Kolakowski.
Mr. Kolakowski worked for Glidden Paint in Reading for many years until his retirement.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict.
He was a member of St. Catharine of Siena RCC.
Mr. Kolakowski was drafted by the Cleveland Indians, playing in Reading for the Reading Indians as a pitcher. He was also a CYO coach at St. Catharine's and an Exeter Legion coach. He was an avid sports lover.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Michael J., husband of Jacqueline K. Kolakowski of Exeter Township; one daughter, Cynthia L., wife of James A. Keane of Exeter Township; four grandchildren: Morgan T. Kolakowski and Rebecca, Rachel and Sarah Keane; one brother, Joseph Kolakowski of New Jersey; and four sisters: Agnes Pasternak, Celia Matts, Anne Unkel and Fran Markiewicz, all of New Jersey.
He was predeceased by a brother, Alex, and a sister, Alice.
Viewing will be in Lutz Funeral Home Inc., Mount Penn, on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Monday at St. Catharine of Siena RCC, 4975 Boyertown Pike, Exeter, from 9:30 to 10 a.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m.
Interment in Gethsemane Cemetery.
