The Obit For Verle Koch

Verle Wendell Koch

Published in Tri-City Herald on July 29, 2012

Verle, 71, went home to Jesus on July 25, 2012, after a long courageous battle with Cancer (CLL). He was born in Westcliff, Colorado, on September 9, 1941, and moved to Chico, California, as a baby, where he graduated from Chico High School and Chico State University with a degree in Education. He moved to the Tri-Cities in 1974, and worked at Russ Dean Ford and RV. He retired in 1998.

He had three other loves in his life besides his family, Jesus, baseball, and the coast. You could always find him reading and discussing the bible with whoever would listen. As a young man he played semi-professional baseball with the California Angels and Giants. He had some arms on him and could hit and throw a baseball! His favorite pastime once he retired was going to the coast, walking the beach, and collecting agates.

He is survived by his loving wife, Judy, of 45 years and his children, Mari Koch-Mayfield, Patti Massart, Kelly Hogan, Carla Weidinger, four grandchildren and his dog, Micah. He is also survived by his siblings, Norma Halder, Max Koch, and Dana Cintrone. He is proceeded in death by his parents Otto and Delta Koch, sister Janie, daughter Sheree, and son-in-law Dr. Mark Massart.

Verle's family invite you to post your loving memories of him at . At his request there will be no services.

In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions may be made to Hospice at The Chaplaincy, 1480 Fowler St, Richland, Wa. 99352
