YORK Donald 'Doc' E. Klineyoung, 83, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 19, 2011, at Memorial Hospital.

He was the husband of Mildred (Leber) Klineyoung and the late Lefa V. (Gingerich) Klineyoung.

Mr. Klineyoung was born on March 10, 1927, in Hopewell Township, the son of the late Harry R. Klineyoung and Clara (Miller) Klineyoung.

A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Klineyoung will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home, Inc., 104 W. Main St., Dallastown, with the Pastor Richard Starr officiating.

Viewings will be held on Friday from 6 until 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9 until 10 a.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Klineyoung is survived by a son, Kevin E. Klineyoung and his wife, Elizabeth 'Libby' of Perioa, Ill.; a daughter, Karen E. McKeever and her husband, Harold of Melbourne, Fla.; three sisters, Mildred Klineyoung of York, Frances Houston of York, and Doris Winand of Port Charlotte, Fla.; and three grandchildren.

Mr. Klineyoung was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold M. Klineyoung and Earl R. Klineyoung; and a sister, Mary C. Klineyoung.

Mr. Klineyoung served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a very active member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Railroad where he served in numerous offices.

Mr. Klineyoung was a long time member of the Izaac Walton League, Director of the Old Timers Association of the Central York County Baseball League, and Shiloh Post #791. He was a former Scout Master for Troop #93 in Loganville. Mr. Klineyoung was an avid hunter and fisherman.

He played professional baseball, in 1945 he played for the Hornell Maples and in 1947 for the Rehoboth Beach Pirates. He remained active in local recreational sports leagues.

Mr. Klineyoung's family has suggested that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his memory be made to the American Kidney Fund, 6110 Executive Blvd., Suite 1010, Rockville, MD 20852.
