Funeral services for
John J. "Jack" Klauer, 89, of Euclid, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday
at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 38001 Euclid Ave., Willoughby.
Mr. Klauer passed away Thursday, Oct. 27, 2011, at Gateway Health Care
Center in Euclid with his family at his side.
Born March 29, 1922, in Cleveland, he had been a resident of Euclid for
the past 54 years.
Jack was an avid softball player for many years having played on one of
the few teams that beat the King and his Court. He was drafted out of
high school by the Brooklyn Dodgers. He was an umpire and enjoyed golf.
Jack was also a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
Mr. Klauer retired from Teamsters Local 392, after 40 years of service.
He was the loving father of Dennis (Mary) Klauer of Richmond Heights,
Sandra (Joe) Negrelli of Euclid, John "Jack" (Denise) Klauer
of Mentor and Patrick Klauer of Madison; cherished grandfather of Jennifer
Ference, Bridget Black, Jolie Edsall, Jacquie Mohler, Jake Klauer, Joe
Klauer, Aileen Klauer, Shannon Klauer and Patrick Klauer; great-grandfather
of Jordan Black, Jack Edsall, Reagan Curry, Grace Ference and Michael
Ference; and brother of Mary Lou Dinasky of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Kathleen H. (nee Ryan) Klauer
in 2011; and parents, Joseph and Helen (nee McHugh) Klauer.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will
be in All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
