Richard H. Duke Kisner,
78, of Easton, PA, formerly of Phillipsburg, NJ, passed away on Monday,
May 21, 2012 at HCR Manor Care of Easton.
Born: He was born in Phillipsburg on July 11, 1933 to the late Floyd and
Lillian Gillen Kisner.
Personal: Duke was a self-employed painter for many years. He was a 1952
graduate of Phillipsburg High School. In high school, he was one of nine
All-State Outstanding Outfielders. Duke signed with the Philadelphia Phillies
in June of 1952 and was assigned to their farm team, the Grand Forks of
North Dakota. He managed and played for the Phillipsburg Collegians Hardball
team during the 1960s. Duke was an avid fisherman and loved to cook his
famous Turtle Soup for everyone.
Survivors: Duke is survived by his wife of 58 years, Barbara Langston
Kisner; daughter, Mindy Papsun and her husband, Gary of Bangor, PA; and
two grandsons, Michael and Nicholas Morrone. He was predeceased by two
brothers, Floyd and Frank Kisner.
Services: Services will be held on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at 12 noon
at the Rupell Funeral Home; 465 Memorial Parkway; Phillipsburg, NJ 08865.
A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral
