KEIZER - Theordore
Francis Kerr was born in San Diego, California on April 23, 1920 to Robert
and Augusta Kerr.
He played professional baseball until he joined the US Army Air Corps
in 1943, serving in the European Theatre. After the war, he resumed his
baseball career joining the Salem Senators.
In 1946, he met Lorraine Overgard, they married in 1947. Ted worked for
30 years as a beer and wine salesman.
Ted enjoyed golfing and was a member of the Salem Golf Club for over 25
years. He later joined the Salemtown Golf Course. He was a member of the
Fraternal Order of Eagles and Keizer Elks Lodges.
He is survived by his wife, Lorraine; his son, Theodore William Kerr;
his daughter, Linda Marie (and Dale) Rosenthal; and his granddaughter
Taylor Rosenthal.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Ted's name to Willamette
Valley Hospice.
There will be a graveside service with military honors at 11 a.m. Monday,
October 26, 2009 at Willamette National Cemetery.
