Robert D. Kenny, 87, died peacefully at home on Tuesday. He was a WWII Navy Veteran and retired from Whitacre Steel as an iron worker as well as a minor league umpire. After retirement he enjoyed umpiring, high school and college baseball. He was an active member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church and used his knowledge of construction in many church projects.

He was predeceased by his wife, the former Marilyn Joslyn; his son, Skip Kenny; his daughter, Sharon Phelps.

Surviving are three children, Lorraine Voutsinas, Linda Costa-Higgins and James (Mary) Kenny; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, September 7, 2012, in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 3494 Rt. 31, Baldwinsville, 13027. There are no calling hours. Private burial is planned for a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Robert's name to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church.
