Leo E. Kantorski Jr., 86, of Arnold, died Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2010. Born Sept. 23, 1924, in New Kensington, he was a son of the late Leo Sr. and Rose Lewandowski Kantorski.

He was a 1942 graduate of Ken-Hi, served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. A graduate of Lenoir-Rhyne College in Hickory, N.C., he was inducted into the Sports Hall of Fame.

He played minor league baseball for the St. Louis Browns after graduating from college. Mr. Kantorski was an office manager for Air Products, Creighton, for more than 20 years, retiring in 1982. He previously worked for the Burrell Construction Company.

He was a member of the Tarentum Elks, the New Kensington Eagles and was a trustee for the New Kensington Elks. He was a hunter safety instructor for many years for the Elks.

Survivors include his wife of 18 years, Eleanor Catherine Cable Kantorski; daughter, Patricia L. (Randy) Lowe, of New Kensington; grandchildren, Christopher L. (Tammy) Lowe, of New Kensington, and Amanda A. (Dan) Rankin, of Arnold; great-grandchildren, Olivia Christine Lowe, Abagail Grace Lowe and Owen Scott Rankin; stepchildren, Barbara Lee (David) Caruso, of Sandy, Utah, and Mark S. (Andrea) Bougher, of Penn Hills; stepgrandchildren, Christina Lynn Bougher, Brian Mark Bougher, Shawn Caruso and Nicole Hill; stepgreat-grandchildren, Kaden, Alexzandra and Katy; and sisters, Dorothy Flaherty and Delores (Alfred) Puhalla, both of New Kensington.

Besides his parents, he was preceded by his first wife, Mary Lou Parry Kantorski.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in the ROSS G. WALKER FUNERAL HOME LTD., 724-335-1234, 217 Freeport Road, New Kensington, where a blessing service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday.
