Randy Johnson, 58, of Indianapolis, passed away on August 31, 2011. He was born on May 12, 1953 in Downey, CA to Raymond and Arline Johnson.

A defining part of Randy's life was his love of sports, specifically baseball. Randy was drafted by the Kansas City Royals as a pitcher, right out of high school and played several years for that organization. During his rookie year in Billings, MT, he roomed with friend, George Brett, who is now featured in the baseball Hall of Fame.

Randy always enjoyed all sports as well as the competition, including a love for baseball, basketball and surfing.

Randy is survived by his son, Ryan Matthew (Neena) Johnson; grandchildren, Gavin Johnson, Ryan Matthew Johnson Jr., and Isabella Johnson; brother, Ray Furney; sister, Judy McMillen; aunt, Patricia Snyder, with whom he resided, aunt, Virginia Shake; as well as several nephews, nieces, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Arline Johnson, of Fullerton, CA.

A committal is being held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 3 at G.H. Herrmann Madison Avenue Funeral Home , 5141 Madison Avenue, Indianapolis, IN.
