Bruce Jacobson passed away after a brief illness on Oct. 31, 2012 at St. Peter Hospital in Olympia. He was born in Aberdeen, Wash., on Nov. 11, 1940 to Elmer and Violet Jacobson. At age 11 he moved to Centralia where he was active in many sports and built many wonderful friendships.

The day after graduation he signed a letter of intent to play professional baseball with the New York Yankees for 4 years.

On Oct. 28, 1961 he married his high school sweetheart, Jeanette. They settled down in Centralia and had a son, Scott and a daughter, Laura.

Bruce was active in coaching Major Little League for years, youth football and later Legion Baseball. He worked 10 years for Greenhill and until retirement, for an industrial laundry business.

Bruce is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, son, Scott Jacobson, DO (Michele) of Jeannette Pa., and daughter, Laura (Fred) Lofgren of Chehalis. He has four amazing grandchildren who he loved very much, McKenzie and Shasta Lofgren and Leah and Luciano Jacobson.

There will be a celebration of life service for Bruce at the First Baptist Church on Market Blvd. in Chehalis. We would be honored for friends to attend his service on Monday, Nov. 12, 2012 at 3:00p.m.
