SOUTH FULTON, Tenn. — Gene Intindola, 91, of South Fulton died Thursday at Park Terrace Village in South Fulton.

He was a member of St. Edward’s Catholic Church in Fulton, Ky., and was a local businessman. He attended Brialey Military Academy and the University of Maryland. He played professional baseball for the Philadephia Phillies organization, then moved to Fulton where he concluded his baseball career with the Kitty League. He was a member of Knights of Columbus and a longtime member of Fulton Country Club.

He is survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Adelle (Homra) Intindola; his parents, Neil and Antionette Intindola; four brothers, Pat Intindola, Jerry Intindola, Mike Intindola and Nick Intindola; and two sisters, Rose Intindola and Tessie Intindola.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 6, 2011, at St. Edward’s Catholic Church in Fulton. Interment will be in Greenlea Cemetery. Mr. Intindola will lie in state at St. Edward’s Catholic Church from 1 p.m. until the funeral hour.
