FAYETTEVILLE - Harold
Joseph Ingle, 60, of 2040 Elvira St., passed away Monday, Aug. 17, 2009,
in Duke University Medical Center in Durham.
He was born April 13, 1949, in Buncombe County to the late Mr. and Mrs.
Hubert Monroe Ingle.
While attending Fayetteville High School, Mr. Ingle played on the 1966
State Championship basketball teams. He went on to play baseball and basketball
at Campbell College, where he graduated with a bachelor's degree. He was
drafted out of college by the San Francisco Giants professional baseball
Also, Mr. Ingle owned and operated the Pig-N-Chicken restaurant on Legion
Road for many years and was the daytime manager of It'z Entertainment
City Sports Bar.
He is survived by his daughters, Jennifer Rene Ingle of Raleigh and Lauren
Bradley Jenkins of Fayetteville; son, Joseph Lewis Ingle of Fayetteville;
and brothers, Jimmy Monroe Ingle and Phillip Randall Ingle, both of Fayetteville.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight, Thursday, Aug. 20,
2009, at Rogers and Breece Funeral Home in Fayetteville.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 21, 2009, at
Rogers and Breece Funeral Home chapel with Dr. David Gira officiating.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, Aug. 22, 2009, at 2 p.m. in
Forest Lawn Cemetery, Asheville.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made
to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 5216 Glen Allen, VA 23058.
