Thomas Leroy Hodges died April 8, 2012, at the age of 87.

Mr. Hodges was a resident of Oakhurst for 39 years.

He was born Aug. 15, 1924 in Pasadena.

Mr. Hodges served in the Naval Construction Battalion of the U.S. Navy during WWII.

He played semi-pro baseball for the Pittsburgh Pirates and worked in the telephone industry for 64 years, retiring as an engineer of Sierra Telephone Company after 14 years.

Mr. Hodges was a lifelong member of the Oakhurst Masonic Lodge.

He is survived by wife Laura; son Stephen Hodges and wife Sylvia of Utah; daughters Marilyn Maynard and husband Rick of Oregon, and Janine Bowman and husband Douglas of Madera; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brothers Edward of Burbank, and Allen of Oregon; and sister Edna of Idaho.
