HODGE, Oren C. "Jack", of Grand Blanc, age 82, passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at his residence.

Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, May 16, 2009 at the Brown Funeral Home, 1480 E. Hill Road, Grand Blanc. Rev. Wayne Wentzel officiating.

Interment to follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 12 noon until time of service.

Jack was born on August 22, 1926 in Leachville, Arkansas to William and Emily Hodge and married Laura M. Trego on October 25, 1948.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and played minor league baseball. He retired from A.C. Spark Plug on April 1, 1982 following 30 years of service and enjoyed baseball, golf and traveling.

Jack is survived by: his wife, Laura; children Carol (Kirk) Reid, Jackie (William) Stilson, and Laurie (Ken) Adkisson; grandchildren Judi Stilson, Staci (Dustin) Harms, Chad Reid, Shari Stilson, Jennifer (David) Wagner, and Scott Adkisson; great grandchildren Emily, Elizabeth, Tayler, David Jr., and Dylan. Also survived by sisters Mavis Drubin and Madelyn (Erwin) Pillsbury.

In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his sister, Christine Lindsey.
