"Greg" Henley, 58, Sarasota, formerly of Lapeer, Mich., died
suddenly Dec. 3, 2008.
A memorial gathering will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Bishop Kelley
School Community Room, Lapeer, Mich. Arrangements are by Muir Brothers
Funeral Home, Lapeer.
Survivors include a daughter, Kerry Canto, of Irvine, Calif.; his mother,
Barbara Henley-Kingsbury, of Lapeer; sisters Shelley Federick of Colorado
Springs, Colo., Lisa Petrie, of Lapeer, and Colleen Golden of Altadena,
Calif.; brothers Todd of Lapeer, and Tim of Clarkston, Mich.; and two
granddaughters.
Greg graduated from Lapeer High School, class of 1968.
Shortly after school Greg became a minor league baseball umpire - a career
he loved dearly.
Continuing with his love of sports, Greg also worked for the Washington
Redskins as a pro scout. Most recently, Greg worked in real estate in
the Sarasota area.
Greg was preceded in death by his father, Douglas Henley in 1975.
A memorial fund has been set up for Greg's granddaughters.
