Paul Bearden Hazle, 82, St. George entered into eternal rest Friday July 3, 2009.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday July 6, 2009 in the Memorial Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the St. George Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his grandsons.

Visitation will be Sunday afternoon from 4 to 6 p.m. at Bryant Funeral Home, St. George, SC.

Paul was born November 26, 1926 in Woodruff, S.C. a son of the late James Roland Hazle and Ella Belle Bishop Hazle. He was a graduate of Porter Military Academy and Clemson University. He was a retired executive of J.P. Stevens & Company. He was first married to the late Mary Elizabeth Tiller Hazle. As a catcher he played minor league baseball for the New York Yankees.

He is predeceased by siblings; Margaret H. Hughes, James D. Hazle, Joseph E. Hazle, and Robert S. Hazle.

Surviving: his wife Mary Byrd McKinnon Hazle, of the home; sons Steve (Eleanor) Hazle, Taylors, S.C., Bobby (Bobbie) McKinnon, Billy (Nell) McKinnon, and Kenny McKinnon, all of St. George; daughters, Paula (Mike) DeCuir, Annandale, Va., Lynn (Barry) Crook, and Kay (Don) Lawley both St. George. Grandchildren Scott (Barbara) Hazle, Lindsay Hazle, Michael T. (Julie) DeCuir, Erin DeCuir, Brady Crook, Tyler Crook, Joey McKinnon, Dana (Mike) Hilton, Bill McKinnon, Drew Lawley and Chase Lawley. Great-grandchildren Hunter DeCuir and Mackenzie DeCuir. A sister Azile H. Paige, Woodruff, S.C.
