Robert E. Hattenbach

Hattenbach, age 80, of Griffith, passed away on Friday, July 8, 2011.
He is survived by his daughter, Janice (Ron) Urevig of Crown Point; grandchildren:
Alexandra and Zachary; brother, Alvin Hattenbach; sisters: Clara Jeremiah,
Lorraine (Ed) Rademacher, Carol (Jim) Dallman, Pat (Chuck) Hescher; many
nieces and nephews; and by his dearest friend, Joan Paluch.
Preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Elsie Hattenbach; and by
his wife, Gwen.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at 10:00 a.m.
at St. Mary Catholic Church in Griffith with Fr. Theodore Mens celebrating.
Burial will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens in Schererville.
Friends may meet with the family on Monday, July 11, 2011 from 3:00-8:00PM
at the White Funeral Home, located at 921 W. 45th Ave., in Griffith.
Bob was retired from Inland Steel and he was a member of St. Mary Catholic
Church. He was a Korean War Army veteran and a member of American Legion
Post 180 in Griffith.
Bob was an avid lover of baseball. At one time he was a pitcher for the
Chicago White Sox and he was active with the Griffith Babe Ruth and a
former coach with the Griffith High School Boys Baseball program. Bob
also loved golfing.
