Jack R. Hasten 82, Springfield, passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2013 in Mercy Hospital, after a long illness. He was born February 9, 1931, in Springfield to Robert A. and Nellie (Pierpoint) Hasten. He was a member of Central Christian Church. He was a retired Conductor and Brakeman with Burlington-Northern Railroad. He was also a former Minor League Baseball player for the Philadelphia Phillies organization. He also had been a Greene County Sheriff's deputy.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Joe Hasten and his baby daughter. Jack is survived by his wife of 40 years Carolyn, three sons: Brandon Hasten, Jack W. Hasten and Jeff Wilson, daughter Nadine Dossett, great- grandson Chance Hasten, three grandchildren; Dominick Baldwin, Mark Baldwin, Amy Hasten, and 10-great-grandchildren.

Memorial Services will be Friday, February 15, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. in Greenlawn Funeral Home North, with Pastor Alvin Hook officiating. Memorial Donations may be made to Fresenius Medical Care: 1675 East Seminole Springfield, Mo. 65804.
