HASENBALG Donald F.,
75, of Tunkhannock, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on October 15,
2008, with his loving family beside him.
Born April 25, 1933, in Paterson, New Jersey, he was a Korean War Veteran,
serving in the United States Navy from 1952 through 1956.Married 55 years
to Carolyn Hasenbalg (nee Voss), his high school sweetheart.
They lived in Oakland, NJ, where he was police chief beginning in 1972
after joining the force in 1960.
Don graduated from the prestigious FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia,
100th Session in 1975.
A Ramsey High School graduate and a catcher in the St. Louis Browns minor
league baseball organization, Don was inducted in 1991 into the Bergen
County Semi-Pro Baseball Hall of Fame, NJ. He was an avid golfer.
The Hasenbalgs moved to Tunkhannock in 1985 after his retirement.Beloved
husband and father, grandfather and friend,
Don is survived by his wife; son Wayne and wife Susan; daughter Donna,
her three daughters; son Gary and wife Sandrah, their two sons and daughter.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes
Research Foundation, Desert Southwest Chapter, Phoenix, AZ.
Friends may join the family for a Celebration of Life, Sunday, at 3 PM,
friends may call 1 until service time at Harding-Litwin Funeral Home,
123 W. Tioga St, Tunkhannock, PA.
