Hardy, William Edgar,
born August 14, 1928 in Miami, Florida, passed away on May 9, 2012.
He was a Korean war veteran who flew his flag proudly. He loved and played
baseball for the Miami Sun Sox and Brooklyn Dodgers. He was a graduate
of Miami Sr. High School class of 1947, and attended the University of
Miami. He was a founder and past president of the Kendall Kiwanis Club,
a member of Dade County High School Athletic Advisory Board, and a member
of the Miami Touchdown Club.
He was a wonderful man and is survived by his loving wife of 60 years,
Carolyn; his children, Dale, Kevin, Julie and Nancy; their spouses, Nicolette,
Kim and Rick; his grandchildren, Brittney, Kyle, Brooke, Ryan, Cheyenne
and Lindsey; his brother, David and sister, Faye, and her husband, Van.
Visitation will be held 6:00- 8:00 p.m. on May 11, 2012 at Caballero Rivero
Woodlawn Funeral Home, 11655 SW 117th Ave., Miami, FL 33176.
A service will be held at noon on May 12, 2012 at Kendall United Methodist
Church, 7600 SW 104 St., Miami, FL 33156, with the burial services immediately
following at Woodlawn Park South.
