Merle Gunnet

RICHMOND, VA Merle
Gunnet, 79, formerly of York, went to be with the Lord on Monday, October
19, 2009. He was born in Stoverstown and graduated from West York High
in 1947.
He graduated from Penn State with a B.S. in 1951 and played two years
of professional baseball. He also served as an officer in the U.S. Navy
from 1951 to 1955, Korean War. He worked for IBM for 27 years in management
and retired in 1984.
Mr. Gunnet was a life member of the American Legion Shiloh Post #791.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester Eugene Gunnet and Lottie
Viola Leppo; and his wife, Arlene Victoria Gunnet.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Vicky and Randy Frost of
Virginia; his son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Beverly Markel of Maryland;
his sister, Lorraine Kessler of Florida; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A graveside service with full military honors will be held at Mount Rose
Cemetery in York on Monday, November 9, 2009, at 11 a.m.

Bon Secours Hospice at 5875 Bremo Road, Suite 710, Richmond, VA 23226.
