The Obit For Glenn Gunn

Glenn Gunn was born in Ord Bend, Glenn Co., CA on Sept. 4, 1920 to Laverne and Edna Gunn. He graduated from Hamilton High School, CA and then went to Modesto College. When WWII broke out, he helped out with the war effort at Pearl Harbor. Glenn was a very talented baseball pitcher. He played with the Hawaii All Stars and then with the Oakland Oaks. It was in Hawaii that he found the love of his life and married Jane Gunn. They were married 63 glorious years.

He was an aircraft mechanic and inspector for United Airlines for 32 years. He retired in Magalia in which he was active in golf, SIRS, church, American Legion, and Butte Co. Scottish Society.

He is survived by his wife, Jane; his children, Richard and Mara Gunn, Lani and Dennis McSweeney, Linda Gunn; his grandchildren, Shannon and Greg McKinnon, Shere and Shawn Shingler, Stephen and Grant Gunn, and Tracee Thornburg; great-granddaughters, Brooke, Morgan, Krystal. His greatest pride and joy was his loving family.

The celebration of his life will be held at the Paradise Alliance Church on Friday, July 25, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. Arrangments are being handled by Newton Bracewell Funeral Home. You may view the obituary online at
