GRIFFITH, Frank Wayne, 69, loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, passed from our lives suddenly on Tuesday, February 7, 2012.

Frank attended the University of Richmond and was an acclaimed Southpaw pitcher who signed with the New York Mets until injured. He was recently inducted into the King George High School Sports Hall of Fame.

Frank worked for over 35 years as a sales executive for Woodfin Oil Company. He was an avid golfer and longtime member of Meadowbrook Country Club. He enjoyed being with his "Bubbas," spoiling his grandchildren and taking care of his loving mother. Frank was a generous, easy-going man who brought fun and laughter to all those who encountered him in life.

Frank is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Susan Effron Griffith; mother, Margaret Allensworth Griffith; eldest daughter, Elizabeth Griffith Jens and her husband, Eric Jens III; younger daughter, Laura Griffith Ritchie and her husband, Patrick Ritchie; four grandchildren, Hannah Margaret Jens, Eric Jens IV, Madison Grace Ritchie and Lucas Griffith Ritchie; two sisters, Judy Griffith Crockett, Gay Griffith Baker and her husband, Bud Baker; two sisters-in-law, Elaine Effron Dunn, Lynn Effron Katz and her husband, Alan Katz. Frank is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

A visitation will be held on Friday, February 10 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Nash & Slaw Funeral Home, King George.

Burial will be private in Westmoreland County. Pallbearers will be Eric Jens III, Patrick Ritchie, Aaron Dunn, David Katz, Benjamin Katz and Ben Baker.
