GRAY, William Ellsworth "Bill" passed away on December 12, 2010 in Thousand Oaks, California. Age 92, resident of Camarillo he was born on July 30, 1918 in Houston, Texas.

In high school he lettered in four sports and was a childhood friend of Ted Williams. At UCLA he played varsity football and baseball. He became a professional baseball player at the age of 20, when he signed a San Diego Padres baseball contract.

In 1940 he exchanged his baseball uniform for one with Uncle Sam and served overseas during WWII. Bill married Janice Lipking February 9, 1943.

He was owner of Bill Gray's Men's Store in West L.A., a Past Master of West L.A. Masonic Lodge and Past Patron of the Eastern Star.

He is survived by his daughter Victoria (Sean) Foran and a son William (Carol) Gray; grandchildren Patrick, Kelly (Miranda) and Heather Foran; and great-grandchildren Nola and Donovan.
