Jesse S. Gomez

MCALLEN, TX. - Jesse S. Gomez, 78, entered eternal rest on Thursday, August 21, 2008 at his residence. He was born October 30, 1929 in Edcouch, Texas.

He is survived by his wife Eunice Hernandez Gomez, his sons; Jesse S.Gomez Jr., Jerry Gomez (Cindy), Jeff Gomez (Betty), James Gomez (Dee), Jay Gomez and his 2 step-sons Luis Guerra and Rodney Santa Ana. He is also survived by his step-daughter Marilu Chappell (Robert) and numerous grandchildren, step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Jesse was a successful and well-known Insurance Agent in Laredo and the Rio Grande Valley.

He was a past member of the Harlingen School Board, Board member of Region One, Referee Association, and past member of various other civic organizations.

Jesse was a professional baseball player, accomplish-ed golfer, and recently inducted into the Leo Najo Hall of Fame.

Jesse was always positive, enjoyed his many friends and family and always loved to make people laugh. We will miss you, Jesse.

Visitation will be held on Friday August 22, 2008 at Funeraria Del Angel, from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. We will have a celebration of his life with a chapel service on August 23, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at Funeraria Del Angel Mission, TX.

Arrangements have been made for a Cremation. In lieu of flowers, the family request that contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Associations.
