Goggins, Carl Winston age 81, was born July 1, 1930 and passed away May 21, 2012. He was raised in Wylam. He served in the U.S. Navy.

He played Minor League (Southern League) baseball, then graduated from Auburn University, class of '57. (A.P.I.) He was editor of a weekly newspaper in Dothan and wrote a political column for 200+ weekly papers. He was a published author.

In his retirement years, he was a substitute teacher in St. Petersburg, FL. Never married until age 71, when he wed his childhood sweetheart.

He was preceded in death by his Mother, Lorraine Nesbett and his Aunt, Ola Belle Watson.

He is survived by his wife of 10 years, Janet Carlin (Argo) Goggins; cousins, Jackie Watson Salter and Debbie Watson Young. Special "long time" pals, Charlie and Baye Mareno, George and Joyce Carlin and Tommy Dempsey, his St. Stanislaus Church family and friends.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 24, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Wylam, from 9:00-10:00 A.M. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 A.M. Father Vernon Huguley officiating.
