GELZHEISER, WILLIAM F. Age 68 on Thursday, January 1, 2009 of Whitehall.

Beloved husband of Nancy (Paterra) Gelzheiser for 38 years; loving father of Brian and Kristen Gelzheiser; grandfather of Alexa Gelzheiser; son of the late Francis and Ann Gelzheiser; brother of Timothy, Dennis (Audrey), and the late Ronald Gelzheiser.

William was on the championship basketball team for St. Casimir, was a minor league pitcher for the Washington Senators, past president of the Baldwin-Whitehall Athletic Association, organized baseball clinics for Baldwin-Whitehall youth, was a union steward for Indiana UPS center and a member of teamsters #249 and was an active member of Whitehall Democratic Committee for the past two presidential campaigns.

Friends will be received at the JOHN F. SLATER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood, Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.

Funeral prayer on Monday morning at 9:15. Mass of Christian Burial in Services St. Sylvester Church at 10:00 a.m.
