Mr. Floyd, age 70,
died on Tuesday, March 16, 2010, at William Beaumont Hospital, in Royal
Oak, Michigan.
He was born on July 8, 1939 in Highland Park, Michigan, to James Milton
and Muriel Ann Floyd. He had been a resident of Clawson, Michigan for
44 years.
Education: Garry graduated from Wilbur Wright High School (a trade school)
Occupation: Mr. Floyd was a Union Steward at Chrysler Corporation for
38 years. He was the longest running (union) Steward for Chrysler. He
also had worked at the Oak Drive-In Theatre at Normandy & Coolidge,
in Royal Oak. Mr. Floyd had served on the Credit Union (ABD) Board.
He was devoted to his family, wife, children and grandchildren. He loved
sports, especially golf, and traveling - Up North and to Texas and Las
Vegas.
Surviving Wife of 50 years: Jean (nee: Collins) Floyd
Surviving Daughters: Elizabeth Tiffner (Rodney), Carrie Morrisroe (Michael),
and Sherrie Ode (Derrick) Grandchildren: Jenna, Cole, and Devin
Surviving Sister: Marilyn Johnson (Don) Deceased
Brother: the late Richard
Also survived by: many loving nieces and nephews
Visitation: Thursday, March 18, 2010, from 2-8 PM at A. J. Desmond &
Sons Funeral Home, 32515 Woodward Avenue, Royal Oak, Michigan (between
13 & 14 Mile Roads)
Funeral Service: Friday, March 19, 2010 - 11:00 AM at the funeral home,
with Rev. Gary M. Tierney officiating.
