Robert "Bob"
Fletcher, 91, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, Dec. 20, 2010.
Service: 10 a.m. Thursday in Laurel Land Chapel of Chimes.
Interment: Laurel Land Memorial Park.
Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Laurel Land.
Bob was born July 2, 1919, in Dublin to Bate and Mary Fletcher. He graduated
from Mansfield High School and played baseball for the Fort Worth Cats
and Worthington Cardinals.
He had a Ph.D. in hunting and fishing.
He was an Army communications veteran of World War II in Italy where he
was awarded the Silver Star. He was a follower of Jesus Christ, his Lord
and Savior, and was a member of Rendon Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Dora Fletcher, in 1998, and
one son, Brock Smith.
Survivors: Children, Connie Carr, Dorene Pigg and Leon Smith; sister,
Betty Spalding of Greenville; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren,
great-great-grandchildren, other family members and friends.
