Charles Scott Charlie
Fletcher, a former resident of Manhattan Beach died March 4, 2008 in Parkland,
FL. He was 52 years old. He was born August 11, 1955 in Los Angeles, CA,
the son of Fred E. and Marjory L. Fletcher.
He attended Manhattan Beach City Schools and was a 1973 graduate of Aviation
High School, Redondo Beach.
In 1975 he was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles and played several years
of minor league baseball as a pitcher. He then worked for PSA (USAirways)
at LAX and San Diego before transferring to Ft Lauderdale, FL.
After leaving USAirways Charlie worked in the Miami area as a corporate
jet charter and sales broker. He was currently employed with Skyline Jets.
He was a professional tennis instructor in Manhattan Beach and San Diego.
Charlie loved to surf and was a regular at 30th Street in Manhattan Beach
for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Lisa; step-son, Derek; step-daughter, Taylor;
brothers, Steven (Jan) of Kernville, CA, William (Gloria) of Laughlin,
NV; sister, Candy (Avery) of Maysville, AR. He was predeceased by his
parents and a brother, John W. Fletcher.
Memorial Services are at Oceanside Christian Fellowship, 343 Coral Circle,
El Segundo Saturday, April 12, 2008 at 2:00 PM. Burial will be private
and at the convenience of the family.
